Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and the use of paylater services on students' consumptive behavior. The development of financial technology has made access to digital credit easier, especially for students who often face financial limitations. However, this convenience may trigger excessive spending behaviors if not accompanied by adequate financial knowledge. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, the study involved 36 active students from STIE Sutaatmadja as respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression through SPSS. The results indicate that financial literacy has a negative and significant effect on consumptive behavior, suggesting that better financial understanding reduces the tendency to overspend. In contrast, the use of paylater services has a positive and significant impact, indicating that frequent use increases impulsive buying tendencies. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence consumptive behavior, with an R² value of 0.504. This finding highlights the importance of improving financial literacy and promoting responsible use of digital credit among students to mitigate excessive consumption behavior.
