Abstract

This study investigates the influence of financial literacy and digital payment on students' consumptive behavior in the era of Society 5.0, with a case study of students in Subang Regency. As technology advances rapidly, students are increasingly exposed to digital financial platforms such as e-wallets, which offer convenience but may trigger impulsive and excessive spending. Simultaneously, low levels of financial literacy among students may contribute to poor financial decision-making. Using a quantitative approach and purposive sampling method, data were collected from 50 active students in Subang who had experience using digital payment systems. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results showed that financial literacy has a significant negative effect on consumptive behavior, while digital payment has a significant positive effect. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence students' consumptive behavior. The study highlights the importance of improving financial literacy to counterbalance the ease and temptation brought by digital payment systems in the Society 5.0 era.
