Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital financial literacy and self-control on the consumptive behavior of students in shopping in e-commerce, with a case study of STIE Sutaatmadja Subang students. The approach used is quantitative with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Data were obtained through distributing questionnaires to 56 respondents selected using probability sampling techniques. Partial test results show that digital financial literacy has a significant negative effect on student consumptive behavior with a significance value of 0.009 (<0.05), while self-control has no significant effect despite having a negative relationship direction with a significance value of 0.393 (>0.05). Simultaneous tests show that digital financial literacy and self-control together have a significant effect on the consumptive behavior of college students (F-statistic = 10.072 > Ftable = 3.17; Sig. = 0.000 <0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.248 indicates that the two independent variables are able to explain 24.8% of the variation in student consumptive behavior. This finding confirms the importance of digital financial literacy and self-control as factors that can suppress the consumptive tendencies of students in the digital era.
