THE INFLUENCE OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP ON WORK ENGAGEMENT OF MARKETING EMPLOYEES AT PT XYZ IN THE WEST JAVA–BANTEN AREA
Abstract
Transformational leadership is an important leadership style that influences employee attitudes and behavior, particularly in enhancing work engagement. In the sector of distribution and marketing of agricultural commodities, employees working in the field such as Spot Worker (SW), Field Assistant (FA), and Agronomy staff often face high job demands with relatively low levels of supervision, requiring effective leadership to maintain their engagement at work. This study examines the influence of transformational leadership on work engagement of field marketing employees consisting of SW, FA, and Agronomy staff at PT XYZ Area West Java–Banten. The sampling technique used was a census method, involving 50 respondents from SW, FA, and Agronomy positions. This study uses a quantitative approach with data analysis conducted using simple linear regression. The results show that transformational leadership has a significant influence on work engagement among SW, FA, and Agronomy field marketing employees. This indicates that the better the transformational leadership applied by supervisors, the higher the level of employee work engagement.
